Anatoly Nikolaevich Pozhidaev, the Head of the Company "Techcenter Plus" became our respondent. The organization has been developing high-tech solutions in the automation of business processes for enterprises. They often use grounding and lightning protection systems to prevent electromagnetic pickups produced by lightning in their projects.
The company exists since 2002 and has established itself not only as a dealer, but also as a team of professionals performing turnkey projects with the development, installation and implementation of them into the life of the object.
How often do you deal with the installation of lightning protection and grounding? Do you often face creative solutions?
We regularly install lightning protection at the facilities of PJSC "Sberbank" and in single-family houses. Installation of grounding always went with the expected result. There coulld be some memorable events with the installation of lightning protection, but we are less experienced in such installation. The reason lies in the fact that lightning protection is individual, and adaptation of standard grounding solutions did not produce any problems. A ZZ-000-15 kit was enough to get a project resistance of 4 ohm
We asked Anatoly Nikolaevich to clarify whether they had to face overwhelming demands of the customer, for example, when space for installation was limited. And received an answer that the customer always has a requirement to make the installation aesthetic and with minimal damage to the roof and facade.
How to start installation of grounding? What tools to use at the calculation and installation?
First of all, it is necessary to investigate the object on-site and to explore the legal and technical documentation. Then we carry out design, but do not always achieve the expected result on the basis of previous experience. In our work, we use the instructions for lightning protection of buildings and structures AD 34.21.122-87 and IS 153-34.21.122-2003. As for the instruments, the main ones are screwdrivers, angle grinder, perforating machine, and from hand tools: wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers.
Our interlocutor said that they use mesh or mast as a lightning rod more often. As a rule, mesh is used because of low cost, also for the objects with a flat roof, and the mast is used for pitched roofs.
In what project would you like to participate? What is the most entertaining in work of an electrician?
Our designer's dream is to design active lightning protection for large squares, monuments of federal and local significance. It is always nice when you achieve the required results using simple and reliable solutions, one of which - the use of module-rod grounding.
