Stainless steel modular grounding

Stainless steel modular grounding is designed to provide effective, durable and easy to install ground devices in the conditions of high danger of corrosion (aggressive soil, humidity, etc.).
This grounding device presents itself an integrated structure consisting of rods connected with each other, which are 1.5 m long, made of stainless steel.

Advantages of stainless steel modular grounding

• simplicity of installation of the electrode up to  30 meters deep without the use of specialized equipment and tools. All operations are carried out by 1 person. Great depth allows to get very effective grounding.
• Minimum area occupied by the grounding device allows to mount grounding in the basement or in the vicinity of the house walls as just one point. Small size minimizes the necessary earthwork.
• all details are interfaced without welding *
• absolute stability of stainless steel to corrosion even in the most aggressive environments helps ensure the lifetime of the grounding device for not less than 100 years.

Grounding kits

Various predefined kits of ZANDZ modular stainless steel grounding are used for the construction of grounding devices with the necessary characteristics (For example, to achieve the desired earth resistance) They contain everything needed for installation of the grounding electrode.

All components are easily interfaced with each other.

Two types of ready-made kits are available, they differ in total length of the pins,the main purpose and package:

ZZ-000-115 

Universal earthing for installation in a form of a modular electrode: on 15 m deep and  three 5 m deep each (4.5 +  4.5 +  6 m).

It is used as a grounding device  with low resistance to spreading and grounding for lightning protection facility.
 

ZZ-000-130

Universal grounding device for installation in a form of a modular electrode: one 30 m deep and  three 10 m deep each (10.5 +  10.5 +  9 m).

It is used as a grounding device  with low resistance to spreading and grounding for lightning protection facility.

Components

Threaded stainless steel grounding rod (D16; 1.5 m)

Grounding pin ZANDZ ZZ-001-165 16 mm in diameter and 1.5 meters in length made of stainless steel. This ensures its extremely high corrosion resistance even in the most aggressive environments. The thread is made at both ends of rods (5/8 UNC) for their mutual binding with the help of coupling.

Threaded stainless steel coupling

Threaded coupler ZANDZ ZZ-002-161 is designed to interconnect pins ZANDZ ZZ-001-165. Made of stainless steel, which ensures its high corrosion resistance.

The coupler is made in such a way that the rods come into contact with each other in the very center of the coupler and the motive power necessary to drive the rods into the soil is not transferred to the coupler. Thus, there is no "dispersion" of the shock impulse and the mechanical load is taken off the coupler.

Starting tip

The pointed steel tip facilitates diving of the rods into soild soil.

Driving head for a breaker hammer

The head facilitates diving the grounding rods into the ground and increases the operational safety of both people and tools.

At the installation, the head is attached to the grounding rod through a coupler. The head sizes are selected in a way so that the driving force does not damage the coupler, i.e. the impact impulse is transmitted directly to the rod passing the coupler.

A clip for conductor's connection

Stainless steel profiled clamp with M10 bolts. It allows to connect a copper-bonded rod with a grounding conductor-  round cross-section wire or a band (up to 40 mm wide).

Safe use of steel and galvanized wire is possible - for that purpose, a gasket is put inside the clamp, which prevents formation of galvanochemical connection between the steel / zinc and copper.

To prevent loosening of threaded joints "bolt-nut" spring washers are used ( Grover washers / grover washers) installed between the clamping surface and the nut.

Breaker hammer head

This steel head with the tempered head transmits the force from the breaker hammer to the driving head (to the mounted rods). It is adapted for working with breaker hammers equipped with SDS-Max fastening.

Additional components

Grounding conductor (PV-1 25 mm²)

This copper single-core, multi-wire and multi-core conductor with a cross section from 4 to 185 mm² in PVC insulation is used to connect the grounding electrode to the facility (main grounding bus in the board).

The conductor is supplied by the meter and in ready-made coils of 3/5/10 meters (ZZ-500-103 / ZZ-500-105 / ZZ-500-110), crimped at one end with a ferrule with a hole for a D8 bolt for connection to the GZSh in the shield

Inspection pit (plastic)

The plastic pit is used to facilitate access to the connection between the electrode (rod) and the grounding conductor. It is installed above the place of connection on the same level with the soil.
