On June 30, the webinar by Prof. E. M. Bazelyan, titled "In What Cases Can an Isolated Lightning Protection Be Used?" was held. The speaker noted that today, the use of isolated lightning arresters has not been elaborated methodologically in full, although a series of technological solutions has been proven well in practice and can be recommended. To avoid mistakes and unnecessary expenses for the consumer, we have to credibly evaluate surge levels which affect isolating structures of lightning arresters, and discard any fantastic proposals requiring lengthy current collectors with insulations unavailable yet for today's technologies.
