The results of computer calculations allow assessing changes in the electric field caused by the lightning upon interaction with various terrains.
A special attention is placed on the lightning interaction with mountainous terrains. The article discusses the issue of how to assess the gorge or high mountains effect on lightning protection. Another aspect of the article is the analysis of what is going on with lightnings at high-rise structures in mountains.
