The lightning protection for secondary schools is a very important issue since it is, first of all, about the safety of the children. However, not all officials are agree with it, and sometimes, we have to persuade them via a court. Thus, on April 1, the Belovsky District Court of the Kursk Region has issued an order for the Administration of the Belovsky District to allocate funds for the installation of lightning protection devices at secondary schools and obliged Vishnevskaya Secondary School, Mokrushanskaya Secondary School, and Ilkovskaya Secondary School to provide buildings with lightning protection devices.
Secondary schools are often exposed to lightning strikes. For example, in June-July 2020, lightning strikes were observed in the Vologda, Leningrad, and Lipetsk Regions. Fortunately, no people were injured, but in one instance, the school has burnt out in full.
