SCREENED CHAMBER GROUNDING

Screened camera is a room for researches of bioelectric phenomena, the walla of which are shielding the chamber content (living organisms, units) from the affect of external electro-magnet fields. Resistance of the grounding device for such chambers should be 4 Ohm maximum. The ZANDZ Technical Center has recently received a request to calculate grounding for one of such screened chambers. Let's study the solution offered by our specialists.

Example of calculation of grounding for a screened chamber

Object: screened camera

Task: Carry out a grounding device with the resistance not exceeding 4 Ohms.

Solution:

Measures on provision of requirements to the grounding system of a screened camera:

1. Grounding is made in accordance with the EIC 7th ed.

2. Installation of 5 vertical electrodes 6 m long united by a horizontal electrode (copper-bonded tape 30x4 mm). The distance from the horizontal electrode to the object shaould be not less than 1 m, deepening 0.5 - 0.7 meters.

Grounding device calculation resistance:

The design resistance of the grounding device is 3,61 ohms.
