Any high-technology equipment at the place of production or in some workshop requires a special attitude. In particular, good grounding and potential equalization system are required, which will allow the use of equipment, as they say, to the maximum.
The ZANDZ Technical Center received a request for the calculation of a functional grounding system for electrical installations (machines) at the place of production. Let's consider what solution was offered by our technical experts.
Initial data:
The soil resistivity adopted for calculations based on the data provided is 300 Ohm * m.
Task:
It is necessary to calculate the functional grounding with the resisance of not more than 4 Ohm.
The set of measures on the provision of the necessary requirements to the grounding device is presented by the following solutions:
Installation of 21 vertical electrodes D = 14.2 mm, L = 6 m, the electrodes are combined with a copper-bonded steel tape with the cross-section of 30x4 mm. Laying depth of 0.5 m - 0.7 m. Burial depth of 0.5 m - 0.7 m.
Grounding device resistance calculation:
The design resistance of the grounding device is 3,8 ohms, which is less than the required value of 4 ohms.
The layout of the equipment is shown in Fig.1.
