FUNCTIONAL GROUNDING OF A HOSPITAL

Functional (technological) grounding for a hospital is made coming out of requirements in the technical passport for equipment. The ZANDZ Technical Center recently received a request to achieve the resistance of not more than 2 Ohm. We will study our solution in detail.

Example of calculation of a hospital functional grounding

Object: hospital

Perform a grounding device for the hospital, providing the resistance of not more than 2 ohms.

Solution:

A set of measures to ensure the necessary requirements to the functional grounding system of the hospital:

1. Grounding is made in accordance with the EIC 7th ed.
2. Installation of a grounding device consisting of 11 vertical electrodes 6 m long united by a horizontal electrode (copper-bonded tape 30x4 mm). The distance from the horizontal electrode to the object should be not less than 1 m, deepening 0.5 - 0.7 meters.

Hospital's grounding device resistance calculation:

The design resistance of the grounding device is 1,95 Ohm.

Figure 1 shows the arrangement of equipment.
