Last week, the ZANDZ project celebrated its anniversary. Nineteen years ago, a professional Knowledge Center on lightning protection and grounding was established to unite and preserve expertise in this field. We began to compile and openly publish reference information, write articles and books, hold training webinars and seminars, assist colleague engineers, and create effective solutions for a wide range of facilities throughout Russia and abroad. (How many facilities have we worked on over the years? About 15,000!)

Over the past two weeks, our team met with engineers at 12 design organizations and discussed the specifics of calculations for challenging sites one-on-one. Our consultations and prepared calculations significantly save colleagues’ time and effort, lower design costs for end customers, and reduce questions from authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).

On September 4, technical specialist Denis Pozdnyakov hosted a livestream, “Lightning Protection and Grounding Design for a Furniture Factory” (recording available), where he prepared a solution for this facility in real time. Due to strong interest in this format, we plan to hold five more similar livestreams on different topics starting in late September.
