Roofing rope lightning protection is a system of external lightning protection, in which a rope suspended above the protected object on special racks that are located on the flat roof of this object, acts as a lightning rod.
Roofing rope lightning protection has a number of advantages in comparison with the system of lightning rods:
- more effective; the system of rope lightning protection allows you to achieve a higher level of protection in comparison to the lightning-rods;
- allows you to minimize the load on the roof; protection of the object is provided by a much smaller number of racks mounted on the roof in comparison to the number of lightning-rods;
- allows you to take into account the surface type of the roof and protect all objects located on it (for example, ventilation equipment);
- perfect solution for the protection of buildings with a large roof area.

Racks of rope lightning protection with a height of 3 to 8 meters are designed for hanging and fixing the rope above the protected roof. Racks are made of galvanized steel, installed on a concrete base.
Conductor wires with a diameter of 8 mm are connected to the lightning rod with a special clamp made of galvanized steel.
Suspended rope is also fixed with a special clamp placed at the top of the rack.

Lightning protection rope directly receives a lightning strike and diverts it through the structure of supports to the grounding device.
ZZ-204-001 is a spiral cable made of galvanized steel wires, made in accordance with GOST 3063-80.
The ZANDZ rope has high mechanical strength, low stretch ratio (to reduce slack), and also withstands and safely diverts lightning currents.

Grounding device
To assemble the grounding device of the rope lightning protection system, you can choose one of our solutions:
- ZANDZ modular grounding is a standard solution for all types of soil, with the exception of stony/rocky and permafrost;
- Electrolytic grounding ZANDZ is used in the so-called "problematic" soils - with high resistivity (permafrost, rocky, sandy);
- Horizontal conductors of copper-coated steel are used to connect the grounding electrodes to each other and to connect them to the supports.
