On 1 April this year, we held an interesting event - the first general informal meeting with the representatives of the ZANDZ Club of Experts. We are happy to tell you about this meeting!
Due to the fact that most of the ZANDZ project staff are geographically located in Novosibirsk, we decided to hold a meeting in this city, inviting the local representatives of the ZANDZ Experts Club. We tried to choose the most informal venue with a friendly atmosphere. The choice fell in favor of the beer restaurant, which in addition to the feast and interesting conversations gave us a small cultural and educational event (read further about it).
We met in the evening after working hours. Everyone was in great mood, it was Friday! After a toast to our meeting, we started a vivid communication and the Experts shared stories of their work.
For example, Sergey Viktorovich Bershadsky, who is engaged in supplying equipment for grounding and lightning protection, told me about an interesting order he had received recently. He got it from the local church, which was located in an open area and it needed lightning protection. By the way, lightning protection of such objects is not a rare thing in recent years. In this case, the project was scrapped for indefinite time. Also Sergey Viktorovich shared with an interesting project from his experience, which is not often seen in everyday life. It is about potential equalization of a stretched ceiling. It is a truly unique project!
The sales manager of the company "WELCOME Siberia Service" Sergey Efremov was also at the meeting, who shared information about the work of the organization and the equipment in which it specializes. Sergey also expressed an interest in the book by Professor E.M. Bazelyan "Questions of practical lightning protection", which we brought to the meeting.
There were also the employees of the company "SvyazNsk" at the meeting. The company is involved in the development of design and working documentation for the communication objects and the head of "Lightning" Ltd. Dmitry Doronin. Of course, almost all of the talks at the meeting in one way or another were about grounding and lightning protection. We talked about copper-bonded coating of rods, electrolytic grounding, SPDs, and the need for lightning protection of large objects, the value of which, as it turned out was underestimated by many customers. Here we remembered the known cases associated with lightning. In particular, when in the result of four lightning strikes into the Google data center , the user data were irretrievably lost. We also recalled the case of the lightning, which struck the Jack Daniels factory, due to which 3 million liters of alcohol was poured in the pond located near. Such topics can be very useful during informal meetings.
In the middle of the feast of the restaurant manager offered us a tour around the brewery, which we certainly did not refuse. Some photos from the tour:

The tour turned out to be informative and all the participants liked it. After it we went back to the table and continued our discussions on various topics. We did not miss the publication on ZANDZ.com, which tells about the unique protection technologies. It presents fictional technology and devices, but the discussions about their efficiency were very real. Having proved the reality of one of these devices, there was even a proposal to launch the project on a crowd-funding venue. Everyone laughed. The evening came to an end on a positive note, bringing all the positive emotions and pleasant aftertaste, which was just what we needed at the end of the working week.
