The webinar titled "Lightning Protection of Explosive Production and Storage Facilities" was conducted on September 4, 2024. Dmitry Krasnoborov, the engineer of the ZANDZ Technical Center, was a speaker.
The webinar addressed the specifics of explosive industrial facilities and storages of substances associated with explosion hazard. During the webinar, Dmitry discussed the criteria to classify such facilities into the lightning protection categories and told about lightning protection methods using calculations and drawings as examples. A special attention was paid to the facilities of the Category I lightning protection according to RD 34.21.122-87 and VSP 22-02-07 of the Ministry of Defense of Russia using standalone and wire LPS as well as safe grounding using this kind of lightning protection.
